I had a few life events that happened over the span of three years, which took a toll on my emotional and mental help. This resulted in me coping in unhealthy habits and found myself spiraling out of control. I chose to get help at Adult & Teen Challenge to get more of Jesus into my life and submit my life to His will. I wanted to break the generational cycle of addiction in my family, so my children can see how to live an addiction free life with Jesus in control

My life was heading in the wrong direction. My addictions put myself and my family in jeopardy, which got me into prison. I am court ordered to be here, which was God’s way to leading me to where I can truly get help. I hope to build a relationship with Jesus, and have Him show me how to restore my life with Him. I hope this will teach my children resilience, and I hope to teach them about who Jesus is and what He did for us.

I chose to come here because I needed help, I’ve tried to overcome my struggles alone, but that wasn’t working. I knew I needed Jesus in my life. I hope to develop a deep and personal relationship with Him. I hope to graduate and go into the internship program, so I can help other as I was helped.

I had been in jail for four months, which brought me to my rock-bottom realization that I needed help to be freed from my addiction with drugs and alcohol. After almost 10 years without speaking to my adoptive mom, we kept in contact while I was in jail. She was the one who told me about Adult & Teen Challenge. I hope to continue leaning into faith, and learn more about how to stay free from temptations. I want to be the mother I need to be for my children.
